Farmgear Ltd have appointed Suffolk Farm Machinery Ltd as the distributor for Maxam Mowers in Great Britain. The first shipment left New Zealand at the end of February ready for spring in the new market. Both the 3300IV and the 2500IV mowers will available for sale by mid-April – ready to start improving pastures one acre at a time!
Maxam mowers will be ideal for the many UK Farmers who need to do a wide range on mowing on their farms – from silage and baleage through to control of nuisance growths such as soft rushes, (bulrushes), and general topping of nuisance growths. Pretty much all the jobs you would use a combination of a topper, a disc mower, a tedder, or a mulcher for.
There are hundreds if not thousands of farms in New Zealand whose pastures have improved from a pasture management regime that included being mown and topped by a Maxam mower. There are several reasons why the Maxam mower made such a difference – one is the clean cut and spread characteristics, and another is that because they are behind the tractor, the farmers could safely mow areas of their farm that would otherwise get left unmown. Add to this that the Maxam mower is so quick and easy to connect to the tractor, that even staff who are not able to use complicated machinery can safely help out with the mowing.
